One of Montana's best fishing waters can be found on the beautiful Clark Fork River (See Right). The Clark Fork River begins at the settling ponds of Anaconda Mt. (SE of Missoula), then runs along I-90 through Deer Lodge, Missoula, Tarkio, Superior, & St. Regis, then takes a NE turn towards Mt. Hwy. 200 before resuming it's western course through Paradise, Plains, Thompson Falls, Trout Creek, Noxon, & Heron, where it then crosses the Montana/Idaho border.

NW Montana's legendary Clark Fork River is highlighted in yellow on the map to the left. Originating at the confluence of Silver Bow and Warm Springs creeks near Anaconda, Montana, the river flows northwest for approximately 350 miles, and terminates in Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho. As the river crosses the Idaho border, it carries an average 22,060 cubic feet of water per second, making it Montana's largest river!Many small scenic towns are situated along the banks of this pristine river.
